Coaching
Unlock Potential & Drive Meaningful Change
If you’re looking for small group intensive coaching or you want to develop the skills of your organisation’s coaches, there are TWO WAYS I can help…
1. Isabella’s Intensive Coaching Programme – for small groups of teachers or trainers
This is one of my favourite ways to work with teachers and trainers because I get to really witness people develop! The programme involves workshops with a small group (about 5 delegates is best), peer observation in a safe and friendly context – through filming and analysing snippets of teaching, co-planning and supported reflection. The programme keeps Learner Progress as the key focus and builds upwards through a “journey” that explores Planning, Learner Engagement, Adaptation, and Feedback. It works well to use a minimum of 3/4 days spread out over the course of a season, with time in between for delegates to try out new techniques. Delegates quickly discover from the first day that the coaching programme is not a judgemental, anxiety-inducing process but is actually a very enjoyable one where they get to see clear advancement in their practice and the learning happening in their sessions!
When coaching in schools, the precision filming is done in the first quarter of the day and the delegates need to be off timetable from Morning Break onwards, with a designated room for the subsequent training to take place. I always make myself available to the participants throughout the process via email so that I can offer support in the gaps between coaching days.
What’s special about Isabella’s Coaching Style?
- I create a safe, supportive space – People make the biggest breakthroughs when they feel truly heard and understood. I create an environment where clients feel safe to explore challenges and unlock their full potential. You can watch my TEDx Talk here!
- I listen intuitively to tune into what’s beneath the surface, helping teachers and trainers to gain insights they might not reach on their own. – I’m committed to making teachers feel seen, valued, and empowered.
- I focus on Real-World Impact – I bridge the gap between insight and action, ensuring coaching leads to real, lasting change rather than just good conversations.
- I provide a bespoke approach – Every person and organisation is unique. My coaching programmes are highly personalised, meeting teachers and trainers exactly where they are.
2. Isabella’s “How to be a Fantastic Coach” – for aspiring coaches
Having an expertly-trained team of in-house coaches can completely transform your organisation. However, not all coaching is created equal… Many people are asked to be coaches, without being trained in how to ask the right questions, challenge thinking, and drive real transformation.
My “How to be a Fantastic Coach” Training Day is highly interactive, fun and includes demonstration of versatile, practical strategies woven in throughout the day!
The training covers:
- How to use effective in-house coaching to significantly and sustainably raise the standard of teaching/ training throughout your entire organisation.
- How to rewire culture (moving people away from “Please-don’t-observe-me!” Syndrome).
- What makes an outstanding coach and why use coaches?
- What typically makes coaching go wrong?… (And what makes coaching work!)
- Establishing a brilliant working relationship and priming colleagues for genuine change.
- Finding out what a coachee needs (and wants!)
- Precision coaching and the transformational power of “Deliberate Practice”
- Facilitating effective reflection and asking the right questions.
- Overcoming barriers and working with cynics, moaners or “blockers”!
- Useful, recommended coaching models
- Embedding Coaching (and best practice sharing) into the whole culture of your organisation
